Local Outreach!

For my local outreach I went with a team of 9 to a neighboring city named Dresden. Our team leaders are Rebekka and Stephen. It's about an hour and a half to get there. We got there at about 6:45pm on Friday. We started by praying [of course!]. The streets are filled with people my age drinking/smoking.....etc. We figured out that our strategy would be to set up the two guitarists [Josiah and I] on a street corner and start playing worship songs. Al we were walking Stephan felt God telling him to stop on a fairly un-occupied part of town. So we set up on a corner occupied by a bar. We played for about 15 minutes when Stephan noticed a middle-aged man watching us from a distance. I'm not completely sure what happened, but Stephan came back with 5 Euros that this man had given randomly!

It gets better! The owner of the bar came out and gave us all something to drink while we were playing! But once again, my life takes a twist......the owner's idea of "refreshment" was a little different from ours; he gave us wine. So much for that! We were all getting cold, and my fingers were starting to hurt and so J.R. decided to ask the ownere of the bar if we could come in and play.....I got to lead worship in a bar in a dirty part of Dresden Germany for about an hour and a half!!! The owner of the bar said that we could come back anytime as long as a soccer game wasn't on! Praise God!

The adventure didn't stop there. Germany's transit line was on strike and so about 90% of the trains were cancelled. We didn't get home to Herrnhut untill about 1:30am.

So that's pretty much how my weekend has been. No new pictures yet but i'll try to get some of the base and some of town + people for all of you.

Love you!

Justin it was great to see you this weekend with the Web Cam. You can't believe how many people have been calling us saying they are praying for you. We love you and miss you, but we know that you are right where God wants you to be. That makes it easier for us.
Love you
Dad

Wow Justin. That sounds like an awesome experience you just had. Now when you grow up and have a family, you can tell your kids that you played worship in a dirty part of Dresden Germany. I have been thinking about you and your adventures a lot. I have been so busy that i havent gotten a chance to tell your family exactly how busy i've been. I cant wait until the next time i get to go to CTK with them and learn more about everything you believe in. Keep safe, and watch your drinks.

Make sure and let us know when Tyler gets there...and have a wonderful time. I hope that you get to do some serious outreaches together!!! The house is pretty quiet without you both... but, amazingly enough, it isn't that bad...I think that it is cuz I know that you both are doing what God has called you to do...so, we are actually very, very happy and content...even if you are not here.

We Love you both,
dad and mom
