So far, in preparation for Wednesday, I have signed up for 2 bank accounts (making a total of 3), gone shopping for clothes, bought a webcam, set up our computers so that we can easily talk while I'm in Germany (for free), and on top of that I helped my brother caulk his co-worker's house. It really doesn't sound like much when it's all written down, but I can guarantee you, it was quite a list of things to do, and I'm not finished yet.
Tonight Tyler and I are going to our friend's house to do some quick recording at his studio so that my mom can listen to my music while I'm gone and hopefully maintain her sanity.
Here is an amazing picture of a little boy worshiping at one of the orphanages that we went to while in Tanzania:
It's just amazing that I don't even need to look up into the heavens to see God and His glory, all I have to do is look at the people that know Him like I do.

The Book of James
9/22/07
Salutation
James 1:1 "James a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad, greeting.(2) My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into diverse temptations.(3) Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience."
This means that when you are tempted you should consider it joy. Why? Because when you endure temptation and resist it you will become stronger against future temptations. Out of personal experience I agree 100%. Each time I resisted it made me stronger. Keep that in mind.
James 1:4 "But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing."
The natural response to adversity is to escape it. But God uses trouble to mature his people.
James 1:5 "If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally (happily), and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him"(6) But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.(7) For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.(8:) A double-minded man is unstable in all his ways.
Ok, contrast to life's trials, it probably speaks of the believer granted wisdom as to the reason for his trials and wisdom to endure them. This doesn't mean that you are going to receive it. Its Gods will and what is best for you.
James Chapter 1 continued...
9/27/07
James 1:9 "Let the brother of low degree rejoice in that he is exalted:[10] But the rich, in that he is made low: because as the flower of the grass he shall pass away. [11] For the sun is no sooner risen with a burning heart, but it withereth the grass and the flower thereof falleth, and the grace of the fashion of it perisheth: so also shall the rich man fade away in his ways."
At first sight, these verses seem unrelated to the larger theme in life's trials. Yet money is a common cause of trials and "double-mindedness"(unreliabiilty)". James is teaching us here to adopt a non-materialistic worldview. Wealth is meaningless in the face of certain death. Rather, we must focus upon upon God's view of exaltation and lowliness.
James 1:13 "Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crow of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him."
This is one of my favorite verses. Its important to realize that when you endure a temptation and not give in you are receiving awards in heaven!! and God promised you them. When God promises something. He really means it!
James 1: 13 " Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man."
Remember this ^^^^
James 1:14 "But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.[15] Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death"
Ok. Important. When you sin you get farther away from God. Remember God hates sin but he loves people. Remember that sin will bring forth spiritual death. if you don't ask God for forgiveness and when you ask God for forgiveness you must be sincere.
I hope this shows up well. I'll keep you posted Justin.
